In October 2004, an international symposium, Writing about Talking, Talking about Writing: Orality and Literacy in Contemporary Scholarship, was co-organized by the Prairie Centre for the Study of Ukrainian Heritage and the departments of English and History on the University of Saskatchewan campus. Fourteen scholars from Canada, Singapore, Ukraine, and the United States were invited to take part in this symposium.
The University of Saskatchewan’s Drs. Natalia Khanenko-Friesen, Keith Carlson, and Kristina Fagan co-edited a collection of essays presented at this symposium, published by the University of Toronto Press.
